10 Best Velcro Dart Boards in 2021

This is our review of the best velcro dartboards.

If you have young children, you’ll find it’s often difficult to find a safe way for them to enjoy sports.

Being a father myself, I wanted to show my children both a safe and enjoyable way to enjoy the game of darts. Without having to supervise them at all times.

After some research I discovered velcro dartboard sets. I knew about magnetic dartboards, but they’re generally not suitable for kids under the age of six.

So, I recently bought a selection of the best rated velcro dartboards I could find online, for my kids to test. So that I could share mine and my children’s honest opinions on each.

So, let get into it.

To save you some effort, I compiled a list of 10 quality velcro dartboards that are suitable for kids. I’ve also reviewed them below. Take a look!

Liberry Velcro Dartboard

What makes this velcro dartboard from Liberry stand apart from its counterparts is its big size. Its diameter is 26 inches, which exceeds the standard 18 inches of regular dartboards. The extended diameter expands the shooting area, allowing for higher hitting rates. This is convenient for kids and beginners, where it helps boost their self-esteem.

While the big dartboard is desirable while playing, it’s surely a hassle when it comes to storage. However, Liberry thought about that and made the soft-fabric board collapsible and foldable so that it doesn’t occupy a lot of space when stored.

To fold the board, you should twist it from two sides with both your hands in opposing directions, clockwise or anti-clockwise, till you get two concentric circles, and you’re done. We give them a point for that!

The set comes with 12 sticky velcro shooting balls in four different colors. Apart from being safe, they also don’t make a loud noise when they’re thrown. Note that there are no replacements for the velcro boards, though.

The board sports a vibrant combination of colors; green, blue, red, and yellow, in addition to a pink bull’s eye. These colors aren’t just for the purpose of visuals, but they help kids develop hand-eye coordination.

To hang this board, you can use the attached hook and hang it on a tree outdoors or on a nail. You can also use it lying flat outdoors.

Why We Like It

  • Large size compared to the rest
  • Colorful targets help develop coordination skills
  • Comes in a decent colorful box so you can gift it to others

Scoze Dartboard Game for Kids

Featured on Amazon’s Choice list, Scoze’s dartboard is a colorful board made of fabric with one side of a traditional shooting side and another side with a playful, childish painting of shark and fish.

The set comes with eight sticky balls that come in blue and red, allowing for two players to compete. According to the manufacturer, it’s suitable for kids aged three and up. We love that the balls come with a small drawstring pouch to store them. Only moms will know how valuable this bag is!

The dartboard has a diameter of 13.5 inches and has an attached sticky hook through which you can hang it on a door or a nail on the wall.

Why We Like It

  • Velcro balls are small, lightweight, and stick well to the board
  • Two sides for the same board means two games
  • Reasonable price

Yesmarks Dart Board for Kids Safe Classic

If you’re looking for a more playful velcro dartboard, then you might like this one from Yesmarks. The board features a joyful blue monster, “Hungry Billy,” with his multiple hands and colorful scoring targets.

Yesmarks’s velcro dartboard is relatively small at 13.8 inches in diameter, and it’s made of a soft plastic-like fabric. If you flip the Hungry Billy face, you’ll find a traditional shooting scheme for older kids to learn targeting skills. Yet, most parents who reviewed this set reported that their kids preferred the monster’s side. Well, we can’t blame them!

The board comes with a set of eight balls in red and blue. The balls are lightweight and small so that they fit in the hands of your little one.

Why We Like It

  • The monster side is suitable for younger kids
  • Has a sticky hook for easy hanging

TaeMaJoy Sports Dart Board for Kids

Another nice option to look at is this dartboard from TaeMaJoy. A 13.8-inch diameter, thick board with a unique star shape divided into colorful targets that’ll help your kid learn coordination and basic arithmetic skills.

One of the best features of this set is its board construction. The board is made of four layers of fabric, which makes it durable, and it’ll withstand wear and tear from your kids.

The set comes with ten balls in yellow and red, unlike the regular eight balls in most velcro sets. The balls are relatively big (1.38 inches), and they stick well to the board, so they’re more suitable for younger kiddos.

You can hang it using the accompanying sticky hook or even place it on the floor or any surface, whatever suits your children better. We’d say it’s also an excellent bonding activity for the family to play together.

Why We Like It

  • Super helpful in learning arithmetic
  • Relatively big balls suitable for small kids

TaeMaJoy Dart Board Games for Kids

Here’s another exciting option from TaeMaJoy for little girls. The dartboard has a cute, pink unicorn theme that’s made of durable, thick fabric. The shooting targets are big, clear, and appealing, making this a convenient option for kids as young as three years old.

The dartboard has a diameter of 13.6 inches, and it comes with nine small velcro balls in three colors; yellow, green, and red. You can easily hang the board from the sticky loop attached to it.

One of the best things about TaeMaJoy is their exceptional customer service that’s available 24 hours, seven days of the week. You get a 12-month warranty and 30 days for free return.

We’d recommend this set as a birthday or a Christmas gift for your little princess.

Why We Like It

  • Unicron theme suitable for girls
  • Supportive customer service

B. toys – Hungry Toss Shark Toys

Why settle for a traditional dartboard when you can have an astounding one instead?

This unique dartboard from B.toys is the real deal. The “Hungry Toss” is a big shark mouth, wide open and hungry for tosses. If your child isn’t attracted to regular darts, he/she will definitely be attracted to the Hungry Toss!

What will the shark be hungry for? Small fish, of course. The set comes with four little colorful velcro balls shaped like small fish with tails to shoot them into the shark’s mouth and ultimately aim at the bull’s eye.

Like the other options featured on this list, this dartboard is lightweight with an attached hook to hang it from. Yet, the board itself is relatively large, with dimensions of 17 x 3 x 23 inches.

All in all, we’d say this is a developmental game that’s best used for toddlers to learn some hand-eye coordination and have some fun. It’s more of a toy rather than a dartboard, to be honest.

Why We Like It

  • Quirky shape
  • Suitable for toddlers

Pokonboy Dart Board for Kids

If you’re looking for a reversible dartboard with a playful cartoon-ish side, you might want to consider this one from Pokonboy.

Not quite different from other reversible boards on our list, the Pokonboy board has a traditional dart side and another simpler side with colorful, cheerful lines supporting your kiddo when he/she aims for the target.

The board’s diameter is 13.8 inches, and it comes with eight balls in red and light blue. The manufacturer’s recommended age is three years and above, and the set does come in a decent packaging suitable for gifts.

Why We Like It

  • Reversible
  • Catchy price

Franklin Sports Kids Dart Board

We don’t know if this qualifies as a dartboard, per se, but it definitely has earned a place on our list because of its intuitive design. The “board,” if we may call it that, is an inflatable round disk of 20 inches diameter with patches of velcro, where your kid should target their shots.

The balls aren’t ping pong size. They’re rather “tennis” balls size with a fuzzy texture similar to tennis balls. Nonetheless, they stick well to the board.

The board has a vinyl cover, and you can blow it yourself or use an inflation pump. It features an anti-leak valve so that the air doesn’t escape and the disc stays intact.

This disguised dartboard game is perfect for get-togethers with family or an active playdate with your little one. The recommended date is six years and up. You can hang it indoors or outdoors. Anywhere that takes your kid away from their computer screen!

The only downside to this model is that it’s slightly pricier than regular velcro dartboards. Yet, the material and balls are worthy of the price.

Why We Like It

  • Creative design appeals to kids
  • Sturdy board

MagicWe Foam Axe Throwing Game Set

By the same token of creative designs, this out of the box ax-throwing game has caught our attention, and we’re almost certain it’ll appeal to your kid.

The dartboard is shaped like a cross-section of a tree, on which your kid can throw not only velcro balls but also small axes with velcro strips! The idea is fresh and new, and even adults enjoy it as well!

The set comes with two axes and six balls in yellow and green. It suits children of ages six and up, especially with the ax’s part poses a challenge for the hand-eye coordination and the targeting skill itself for both kids and adults alike.

There are five concentric loops as targets, including the bull’s eye, which adds six points to the score!

This dartboard or “Throwing Game,” from MagicWe, can be used indoors or outdoors and can be a way to gather the whole family. We’d definitely recommend it if you’re not strictly looking for traditional dartboards.

Why We Like It

  • Innovative game concept and challenging targeting
  • Enjoyed by adults and children alike

O-heart Halloween Dart Board

We’ll be finishing off our list with this Halloween-themed dartboard from O-heart. It’s a reversible board with both sides with Halloween themes. One side is a traditional targeting dartboard with a pumpkin as a background, while the other is of Halloween related doodles with different shooting targets with varying scores.

Honestly, this is one of our favorite boards because it’s made of a thick fabric covering a multilayered thick sponge disk. It’s both sturdy and super safe; it’s not one of these paper-like boards that flip whenever you shoot them strongly.

Another advantage of this set is that it’s slightly cheaper than its counterparts. Who wants to pay more bucks for a toy? Yes, no one.

The set comes with six darts of three colors, which is not the best decision if you asked us. Three colors for two players would’ve been more practical, though.

Why We Like It

  • Halloween theme
  • Super catchy price

Our Verdict

Not only are they entertaining, but velcro dartboards also help your kids to learn basic maths skills. They also help to improve hand-eye coordination.

With the being said, from those that we reviewed above, we thought that the Scoze Dartboard came out on top. With a 4.5 star rating from 274 reviews on Amazon and cheap price, it’s definitely worth checking out!
